We decided to see a preview performance at the B Street tonight after receiving a call on Thursday, from the box office, that tickets were available. Their mailer, announcing the play, did not go out on time to announce the weekend performance. So, the theatre decided to call the patrons who regularly attend the preview shows. This is the first performance that I can remember that did not have a full house. However, I'm glad they notified us, as we enjoyed tonight's show, "A Skull in Connemara". The play is a really offbeat Irish comedy that takes place, for the most part, in a cemetery. Like I said. it is very offbeat!
After the play, Nancy and I ate at Sai Jongs (Korean food) and after that we did a little shopping for items we need for tomorrow morning's "Big Breakfast".
We had a good time tonight. We'll be returning to the B Street in about a month, to see a children's play - a Christmas play, actually. It should be fun and a good precursor to the holidays. You can see a cellphone picture that I took of Buck Busfield (wearing glasses), Timmothy Busfield's brother (West Wing), to the right and at the bottom of the blog page. Buck is the founder of B Street, along with his brother Timmothy. Timmothy has starred in several productions, but none recently. The theatre is one of the largest growing theatres in the country. Before too long they hope to move into a new three million dollar facility. That one will be considerably larger than the current building(s). Nancy and I enjoy the theatre, as do many Sacrament-ans, so it should really add to the arts in our city.
