College Basketball
"March Madness" has come to Sacramento, more specifically to the Kings Arco Arena, and it has brought a lot of excitement to our city. I watched some of the action today - the local games in Sacramento and some of the games from back east. My friend, Tom, saw his alma mater go down to defeat. Gonzaga was no match for Indiana. Lots of spunk at Gonzaga, however. It just wasn't their time. And Stanford met the same fate while playing one of my alma maters - Louisville. Tom says he is now ready to support the Louisville Cardinals (I'm still teaching him how to say Louisville correctly - it takes some practice) and I think that may be just what we need to get to this year's Final Four. If I can recruit a few more cheerleaders from the west coast, we might even be able to root the underdog Louisville team to the playoffs. One thing we can be sure of this year. Duke won't be there to wreak havoc on the other contenders. Duke - out in the first round. Who would have thunk??
